Hui Lau shan 许留山 @ City Square, JB

After some shopping, we went to Hui Lau Shan 许留山 for dessert.

I was quite happy to see this famous dessert shop in Hong kong have opening branch here. Its time to give it a try!!




























They were famous with variety of mango desserts, however, personally I found their 龟苓膏  is special. It have hot and cold, not that bitter but still has the slight herb taste. Texture smooth. but not too hard or too soft. Just nice!! when eat with honey..is perfect match!!! Love it!!
I orderd Hot instead of cold!!

( For your info, Do you know 龟苓膏 can reduce heatiness in your body..also is good for skin..!!)

Other than 龟苓膏, I have order bird nest and 雪蛤 to pamper myself.

They use coconut to boil bird nest and 雪蛤. Wow! I love it! Will it make my skin smoother? hee...
It full of coconut fragrance and you find refresh after a try! It is not sweet, the sweetness is from coconut (nature) sweetness itself.  Is perfect match!! It has hot and cold. I chose Cold!

DONTAKU Japanese Restaurant@City Square, JB

We were running marathon food at City Square, Johor

First meal that we chose. Japanese food!
The outer of the shop look special and authentic ...therefore we gave it a try. Hopefully can source for some 
good foods.

The first dish we had were salad.
Glass noodle salad and cabbage salad.
Amazingly the salad is refreshing. Grass noodle salad is thumb up .. For it not too hard, not too soft.. QQ yet absorb the sauce ..nice !

After first dishes, Hm.. Expectation increase... Next dish might be better..

Ramen !!
Sadly, not as expected!! I can't even put nice word on it....

Chawanmushi!!
Hm...still Iciban@jurong point the best.
I cant taste the fragrance of egg and soup combination. Texture still not as smooth as i used to eat...

ChaSoba!!
Noodle QQ - but when dipped with source, a bit salty...

Sushi!
We ordered two type of special sushi (see the picture), which we did not see it in Singapore.
So give it a try!

Salmon Nama Harumaki (RM9.00)
Salmon is fresh! but when wrapped with vietname roll pastry, that make the texture a bit different.
Salmon melt in the mouth..after you swallow all ingredients, left the roll still in the mouth and need to chewy.
overall are acceptable.

Dontaku Special Sashimi (RM12.00)
The cucumber sanwich with Tuna - Quite refreshing.
Just wonder tuna isn't red. How come is light brown color?

Couple time @ Sizzling StoneGrill @City Square-Johor

I have  passed by this restaurant few time . Often captured me is the picture - 'Food Grill on the Rock!' Though I was tempted many time ,but I still resisted to go into this restaurant and give it a try..reason..Heaty.. and not right timing ( Having sore throat / ulcer)

This time round .. I decided to give it a try to kill or should say compromise my temptation ...:p

What unique is Grill the food on Rock!! This is what i want to try!! Will it taste better? ...hm..
Due to very hungry, we have ordered 1 set lunch - grill chicken, Tom Yum Mee Hoon on the rack, Grill New Zealand Lamb to comfort our stomach.

Overall, what really impressed me was the New Zealand Lamb! The Lamb was fresh !! We grilled the lamb on the rock. The rock was very hot therefore the moment we put the lamb on it..it already half cooked.

My hubby love medium rare , but I prefer well done...we can grill base on our preference. 

Even the lamb was well done, the meat was still juicy ,tender without smell..It really Deserve you to give it a try!!!

Other than that, the set lunch and Tom Yum Mee Hoon were average.

Lunch @ Chicken Hot Pot

Yesterday was my brother off day and We planned to meet @ bedok interchange to collect Chinese New Year goodies.

Other than that he was my lunch partner ...I have asked him recommend me delicious and unique food around. And he brought me to Bedok Point. In the Bedok Point, there were many big and small restaurants located in different floor..

What really attracted me was this restaurant named ' Chicken Hot Pot'??

Ha ha...I was attracted by the hot pot which can eat in "different kind of version."
You can try the dry version of hot pot first and half way convert it to steamboat version.

I have ordered couple set.

this is the dry version - Hot Pot ( spicy shrimp and non spicy chicken)

Half way we ate hot pot, we asked waiter to add in soup become steamboat.
when the pot become steamboat, we added in the shrimp paste into the soup.
( which you can see it in the last picture)

Overall , my personal comment was:

For the Hot Pot Spicy Shrimp : The shrimp was fresh but was a bit spicy to me. ( But for those who liked to eat spicy and sour, this will suit your appetite. ) Other than shrimp, it came with fries, cucumber and celery..which was an unique match that really can open your appetite..and it suitable to eat with rice...SIOK ~~

Remark: Before you converted it into soup/steamboat version : my advise is finish the prawn and fries first..else the fries become lumpy , same to cucumber..the crunchy will become soft. In the soup version, add in shrimp paste..texture _> QQ, Nice. Yummy..~~

Personally, I preferred eating this dish in dry version. Soup version is when i finished everything left celery then add in soup and prawn shrimp..

For the Non-spicy Chicken Hot Pot   - The chicken was fresh and texture was just right( not too hard /too soft) but quite a small piece that I felt not enough to satisfy my stomach...hee hee ..the gravy was rich, nice and tasty and perfect to eat with rice(This really satisfy your stomach but don't drink the gravy , for it too rich and you will felt a bit salty.)


Remark: Before you converted it into soup/steamboat version : my advise was finished the veggie first  before it become lumpy and soft. In the soup version, add in shrimp paste..texture QQ.

If you feel like eating What is in the Pot not enough, you can order the side dishes to add in to  your hot pot/ steamboat...they have many side dishes like, mushroon, beef, veggie, tofu, fish...e.g.
